Offer trade skills training in tailoring and business literacy for young women from low-income households. while Generation Kenya provides tools and training, Shanzu Network Foundation ensures the girls are Housed, fed and supported with dignity throughout the 2 months training period. Key Support Elements: Meals & Upkeep(Daily meals, cooking utensils, cleaning supplies, and personal care items to support health and hygiene) Mtwapa-based housing (30 girls 2 sharing per room- 15 rooms), meals, transport (Shuttle or public fare support to and from training centers and placements), beddings & utensils (Blankets, bedsheets, mosquito nets, cups, plates, and basic personal storage), wellness support(Toiletries, sanitary pads, mentorship sessions, and emotional support groups).
Program Summary:
Beneath the vibrant colors of Shanzu’s daily life lies a quiet crisis—young women grappling with broken trust, lost chances, and silent suffering. Some have fled abusive homes. Others have sacrificed dreams to care for siblings. They are brave—but weary. This program is their turning point: four months of safety, skill-building, and soul-repair.
Scope of Activities:
- Safe housing for 30 girls in shared rooms
- Provision of daily meals, utensils, and cleaning supplies
- Transport and personal care support for training days
- Tailoring instruction and business literacy
- Wellness circles, mentorship, and emotional healing
