Addiction Recovery Support
Notice: Test mode is enabled. While in test mode no live donations are processed.
Expand aftercare and vocational support for recovering youth to prevent relapse and build sustainable livelihoods. Key Support Elements: Vocational kits, peer mentorship, psychosocial guides.
Program Summary:
For many youth in Shanzu, recovery from addiction is not the end—it’s the beginning of a road paved with doubt, stigma, and the fragile hope of reinvention. The hardest part isn’t getting clean. It’s staying seen. Without tools, mentors, or a clear path, many relapse—not because they want to, but because society looks away.
We choose to look closer. To see the courage it takes to restart, to rebuild, to rise. This program provides the scaffolding for sustained recovery—through peer support, vocational guidance, and psychosocial care rooted in trust and local context. We don’t just say “welcome back.” We say: “Let’s move forward. Together.”
Scope of Activities:
- Distributing vocational startup kits in trades like tailoring, plumbing, digital services, and catering
- Training peer mentors—recovered youth who guide others from lived experience
- Providing psychosocial recovery guides for community counselors and caregivers
- Hosting safe-space gatherings for storytelling, accountability, and healing
- Developing post-rehab placement pathways with local businesses and artisans
Beneficiary Testimony:
“After rehab, I was scared to return. This program gave me a skill—and reminded me I still belong here. My past is part of me, but it doesn’t own me.” — Kevin, 26, Program Graduate
Donor Appeal:
Your support builds bridges where others build walls. You’re not just funding recovery—you’re funding reintegration, resilience, and relationships. Every kit delivered, every peer trained, every guide printed becomes a lifeline between relapse and a renewed life.
