Youth Talent Nurturing
Program Overview
In Shanzu, too many dreams sit idle, crammed into tiny rooms or buried beneath daily survival. A boy hums a powerful melody in a boda boda queue. A girl sketches her heartbreak into the back of a schoolbook. Young minds are aching to be seen—not just fed, not just kept safe—but truly witnessed in their brilliance. This program offers more than gear. It offers permission to create, to play, to be proud of one’s gift.
We don’t just mentor talent—we nurture identity, expression, and belonging.
Scope of Activities:
- Distribution of musical instruments, sports kits, and art supplies to youth clubs and schools
- Organized mentorship programs with artists, coaches, and creatives from within the community
- Hosting talent showcases—safe spaces to perform, exhibit, and celebrate
- Peer-to-peer training and skill-building workshops in music, arts, and athletics
Testimonial
Before I touched the guitar, I only knew how to survive. Now, I know how to express. I sang at the community showcase. My father stood and clapped. For once, I was not just someone’s son—I was an artist.” — Musa, 17
Your support tunes the silence into song. It turns forgotten alley corners into canvases. It makes dust rise—not in despair, but from a football kicked with purpose. These aren’t just hobbies—they are lifelines for youth who’ve had everything but permission to shine.
